Re: Fishing Reports for the rest of 2018

On another note, it looks like they're setting up to do some major beach fooking (aka replenishment) in the Seaside area. They were moving a pumping ship around a mile or so off from the boardwalk all morning and somebody left a 30" diameter pipe on the beach near where I was fishing yesterday.

Does anyone know what the plans look like?

How badly will that affect the area for fishing next year?

I was there from about 07:00 until noon. Most of my fish came around 11:00, as in 3 fish in 10 casts.

I was throwing an Ava like metal with an orange tail and had a black / white teaser in place. 3 fish on the metal and 2 on the teaser. I just read on the Dock Outfitter's page that fishing the metal really slow works better. Who knows, I might have caught more fish if I'd been doing that.

In any case, I don't think I'm done yet! .............Cheers all!

Thanks for this report. It gives me some hope that "it's not over" yet. I'm going to try again in a few days, after this latest storm moves through.

I fished the park on Friday afternoon and hooked a couple little ones, but they got off. Saturday morning rain and low tide was not much better but managed to land a couple little ones on clams. Nothing on the metals or teasers for me. Left around 10 am figuring it is over, but maybe not yet. Same story from everyone I talked to...little ones only. I am done for the year now...unless something happens to make me wanna go over the holidays. Merry Christmas and happy New Year everyone.

The bass in the park appear to be the same ones from the spring, summer and fall.
I saw them swimming in the trough whenever the water was clean and the visibility was good.

I have yet to catch one that I don't recognize!

Tomorrow? (Tuesday)
*
* Sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a northwest wind 18 to 22 mph, with
* gusts as high as 38 mph.

*
Fishable? I'm itchin' to get another run at these little guys, and maybe at one of their bigger cousins. I can wait for Wednesday with much calmer winds from the SW, but wonder what you all think of the brisker Tuesday weather.

Seems a bit too "breezy". I'll be out there on Wednesday.

Well, now I have work getting in the way, so it'll be Wednesday for me, too. BT, let us know how it goes for you.

Just got off the beach, walking the dog-not fishing, steady N wind 20-23 mph w/gusts to 30. Yes it has knocked down the large swell we've had but the water is like chocolate milk. Tomorrow looks good, even better Thursday.
