Default Re: The Hunting/Shooting Thread

No generalization can be made about hunters any more than any other forms of behavior. Hunters come from a cross section of society and can have any behavioral trait exhibited among them. Keep in mind that many hunters hold themselves to a performance level where they are expected to take game now and then. They have to show off to their buddies at the club; or their wives expect them to be successful; or their grown kids. There are pressures. So some, only some, go over the line.

And sometimes there is bitterness about game laws where a person feels justified in cheating -- shooting before or after hours, or sharing game tags. Think for a moment of all the cheating that goes on in traffic. My wife and I hunt along an Interstate where they speed limit is 55; everybody, with no exception drives at 70! Some of those scofflaws are hunters too.
