Default Flounder hooks

I have a question for you all about some flounder hooks I picked up at an antique / miscellaneous goods shop last weekend.
I call them flounder hooks because they are kind of little, like size 8, and have a looong shank (3") with an in-turned eye (the eye is tilted over the point of the hook.)
These hooks fall outside my experience, but I want to try flounder fishing next summer when I visit in Maine. Can I use these for traditional bottom fishing with clams, worms, and such?
I'll posted this in the NJ Forum, too.
