Yup, I do use Circle hooks. 6/0 for sand worms and 7/0 for chunks.

I was out at the mouth of the Scarborough River Saturday at dawn fishing Herring chunks... ZERO bites.

Around noon switched to Mackerel and caught my first Maine keeper . 22 1/2 inches ~ 5 pounds, nice fight, stripped off some line, good head shakes and made a very tastey dinner.

Do you need a license to dig clams in Maine?
