Hey all, I am from Milford, CT. I fish the Housatonic up to the Derby dam. I also goto Gulf
Beach and the West Haven wall. The biggest Striper I have caught is 36" (didn't weigh)
at Caswell Cove in Milford. Just looking to learn more about Striper fishing.

I mainly use sandworms, mackerel, bunker, and clams. When the herring run up river from the Long Island sound I like to run to the dam and use a Daiwa Salt Pro Minnow. I feel that is the best lure around.

For mackerel I use a 8/0 circle hook
Sandworms 6/0 circle

I just got some gamakatsu big river 10/0 for bunker heads.

I will be purchasing a fishing kayak during the first week in July so I will be hitting up the group for tips and tricks with fishing off shore.

Hi and welcome to the site. I hope you learn well and increase that personal best to 46" soon. Just for future reference, you might not want to be so specific about fishing spots, unless they are well-known, public and very roomy. Some people get upset that they may show up some night at a favorite spot and find it too crowded to accomodate them. Good luck with the kayak fishing, you'll enjoy it!
