Adam West, the actor who originated the role of "Batman" in the 1960s cult TV classic, died Friday at age 88 after a short battle with leukemia, according to his family. "There are no words to describe how much we'll miss him," his family said in a Facebook post to fans on Saturday. West shot to fame playing the Caped Crusader on the ABC series, which took a campy and humorous turn as West's Batman pummeled his way through episodes with a "KAPOW!" and a "BAM!"
