HAPPY 04 TO ALL, WITH HOPE FOR A SEASON IN MILFORD CT-THIS YEAR

I'M LOOKING GOOD A SOURCE FOR A LAMI GSB 1081 L.

I'LL PROBABLY PUT A VS 150 ON IT, PERHAPS A 200;HOWEVER I THINK THE 150 WOULD BE A BETTER FIT.
RE GUIDES: I WAS TOLD: 75,60,40,30,20,16,TIP
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS GUIDE SET UP AS WELL AS MFGR. RECOMMENDATIONS.

TKS. ALL

A good source for the blank is mike cc:

http://www.capecodtackle.com

I'd get a second opinion on the guide sizes, too. No need for a 75 or a 60 on a 9' stick (besides the fact that the only guides that size you'll be able to get today are crappy chrome plated wire Perfections). Start with either a 50 mm Fuji BSVLG or a 40HH gathering guide and work your way down from there.

Thanks DeeJay,Will ck. out Cape Cod Tackle. I also thought a 75 was a little whacked for a 9.

I believe my 9-1/2' has a 40 as the gathering guide. With the spool diameter on the Slammer 560 the line appears to feel without much if any bend.

Perhaps an older style reel, like a 704/706 would do better with one of the huge guides?

Bass-the Lami blanks at CCtackle are listed under rodmaking supplies not under the Lami rod section.....heres the url:

http://www.capecodtackle.com/Merchan...1_03_LAMIGLASS

check out the Batson Rainshadow blanks too, I was also looking for a economy bacckup rod but after reading some posts in here Im now leaning towards a Batson blank and making another rod.

same source for Batson..........CCtackle page under rodbuilding supplies......prices seemed real good....Mike from CC tackle in an earlier post said how the rainshadow blanks have similar action to a Lami and are roughly a third the cost.
As for which blank, thats up to the individual. Im looking for a plugging rod primarily, only bait fishing i usually do is with eels so i dont need a heavy heaver.

While I've not owned a Rainshadow, I do have 2 plug/eel rods built on All Star blanks (1088, 1208) which I really like. They are very stiff and cast a mile.
