I think the above article demonstrates that sportsmen's input and influence into fisheries management, while probably at an all time low, is about to get even lower. Regardless of what you believe or how you feel about global warming, should that debate begin to feature in fisheries management, the outcome will not be good for the sport.

And....here we go. Take careful note of the following written in this article:

"And as much as they might want to, oceanographers can't wave a wand and cool the Gulf of Maine back down. 'All we can control is what people are fishing and people’s expectations,...'"

That's right, folks. They can't control the water temperature, but they damn well can control the fisherman "and their expectations." Personally, I "expect" the worst.
