Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
I guess I'll start it off. Fished with some good company this morning, BenGardner and jetty jumper , my first morning trip. 6 short fluke for me, my buds were catching also. Hickorys and snappers in the mix.

Impressive resilience to the elements man...fish felt like heating pads compared to the 60 degree air temps blowing 20...dan had the goods with the winter hat!!...looked like deadliest catch out front with 18 ft center consoles going airborne for glory ...im happy to have a reason not to target fluke for the season cause the little ones and the sea robins just like me too much this year...of course the fluke will start pouring in now and that's all I will catch when I try for bass

Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
Moco 6AM -10AM. East wind with a waist high choppy surf with a dropping tide. A small sea robin and three flat ones, two at 17 inches and one at 19. I was using the high low rig with a gold and white clouser with plastic eyes as a teaser on the high hook and a 4 inch chartreuse swirly tail grub on the low.

Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
Great reports as always guys! Braved the elements yesterday to get my fall run started...I gave up on fluke since I didn't get out much and the season sucked IMHO..So I'm on a strictly bass hunt now!!
Hit a spot in Moco that has been good to me wind was hard E about 20.. water was big and a little stained which got worse as the morning went on and a nice period of pouring rain!!!..Poked around the wash by some structure and was finally rewarded for my efforts managed to pull 3 bass out of the wash 16-20in SP and mag got them missed/dropped a few others and snagged a short fluke lol...lets hope the fall is better than the fluke season was...

Two gentlemen fishing near us. I saw them burying fish in the sand, saw them turn some shorts back. Didn't think anything of it til 30 min after they left, seagulls are running around with a couple of shorts

Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
Had a great time on Waterproof Saturday.
5 Yellowfin tuna, 3 biggest all weighting between 68-69# each and 16 longfins. XA big hammerhead took a chunk out of a YFT as we were reeling it in.

All lit up!

Boats going to need a good scrubbing...

They were feeding on bigger squid...this is the stomach contents from just the three bigger YFT alone.

Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
Wrapped up the 2017 fluke season on a positive note with a 4 man limit.
Fishing 5-10' of water within sight of my dock isn't my favorite kind of fishing but I'll take them anyway I can get them when I'm still down a motor...
Yep, still stuck on just one motor...holiday weekends suck for getting people to work, can't say I blame them. lol
No rush at this point, I don't think anyone is in a hurry to see more porgy dock shots.

Re: Sept. & October Fishing Reports 2017
Hmmm...Mr. B is a tough act to follow.
I took my older girl to IBSP for some swimming for us and a bit of fishing for me...nothing too intense, just fun. I was throwing a popper at high tide in the back and getting some very good action from chopper blues. The best was the first hit which came with my girl standing next to me and the fish hit and missed 5 times starting 20 feet in front of us. It was cool for her to be able to see the fish circle around each time for another pass. All the fish I caught were in the high 20 to low 30 inch range but were skinny as snakes. There were clouds of baitfish around our legs the whole time so I guess the fattening up will come this fall.
I watched a couple guys in kayaks hammer fluke right down the way from me. I will keep that in mind for next season.
