Park had bunker outside the bar all morning, whales crashing through and occasional blow ups from bass.
There was fish caught today "not by me" and based on the amount of people that were on the beach. To catch was like winning the lottery.

Decided to repeat Long Island sound trip on Saturday morning on the kayak ....6.30am to 2pm ...very nice in the morning only to get windy in afternoon..20-25mph south wind...nevertheless it was an eventful day...launched with 2 others fellow kayakers and as we started John got a 32" bass (still swimming) and I caught a schoolie...on our way out of the creek I saw couple of swirls so I stopped and within 15-20 minutes caught a dozen stripers up to 24"...then went to a rocky island where we fished for tog...caught 15-20 fish with 5 keepers...the biggest around 19" and 4 lbs..on the way back caught 2 blues trolling..in the marina spotted a huge school of small stripers..caught 5-6 fish 12-18"and then called it a day...left them biting

Same deal with me Bill, chased the reports and hit seaside area for Saturday morning picked the wrong beach, from what I can gather the bait pushed in further south of where I was. Did enjoy the show three whales put on during the sunrise. I hope everyone weighing in their catches realize these fish are part of the breeding biomass, so no complaints when everything craps the bed in the upcoming years. Ok off my soapbox

Anyway, went out at sundown today, small pods of bunker here and there, but was able to land a 39", 23lb girl, still swimming after that a pod of dolphins came in and killed any bite that was starting to happen.

Out last night from 6-845. Fished about 5/6 rock piles. Landed my personal best fish on Rod and Reel of about 35/36" but fat and just shy of 20lbs. Wound up with two more after that, 16" on the teaser, and a 31". Both keepers hit the copper magdarter. Seemed as though once the tide came in at 8/815, the bite shut off. All fish were safely released

Bill, I'm so glad I'm not the only one to successfully avoid catching in the midst of what should have been a perfect outing. I think I just have to drive farther for the privilege.

I was out Friday night and from o'dark hundred Saturday morning and only had one hickory to break the skunk. The boats were doing great just over the bar - I could see the big fish slamming bunker in the open spaces between the crowd.

Back out this morning, picked out 29 bass, schoolie up to 35". Fish were busting on peanuts, didn't see any of the big bunker pods around and took a drive north and south seeing what was going on. Taking a break for the night, need to let the hands heal up.
