The latest issue of Surfcaster's Journal has an excellent video by Bill Wetzel on fishing a needle plug. It gives me encouragement to try it again.

Bayyaker: I noticed that you cover the eye of the hook with some of the tying material. It looks really cool, but does it make it tough to tie it to the line? Is there a reason you prefer it that way?

Actually I couldn't tell you about tying direct. I use the small QuickClip, the fluke and weakfish didn't have a problem jumping on it. I don't think there would be a problem tying direct, the bt separates when you thread the line threw. But I would tie a loop knot rather then a cinch knot, loop would give it more action, just like the guickclips.

I am chomping at the bit, and can't take it any longer. I've got to wet a line. It's going to be really nice tomorrow afternoon. Does anyone want to meet down in Monmouth County area to go fishing for a few hours? If so, pm me.
