Joe, go do a search on the net for freeware to recover deleted files.

Doesn't take long and you'd be amazed what you'll find.

You might find out something new about your wife (she did go on the laptop when you weren't looking, right???)

Glad you got your pics back and were able to figure what happened. But what was the story with the PC lockup? That shouldn't be just cause you deleted pics.
From what I see of your post here, I guess you don't really want to persue that.
Sorry, Its just 28+ years mainframe operating system support that drives the question. What do they say, inquiring minds want to know.
Later,
Pete.

Joe, did you throw the laptop out? I'm confused about why you're resigned to get nothing.

Even if you "wiped" your disk, I bet there are pics still there, unless it was a secure "wipe" which 99.9% of the folks don't do.

ok, my last post on the topic. don't want to kick the dead in their grave

So if it's still in the family and its working why don't you reformat the hard disk with one freaking Operating System rather than 2 partitions with XP? Plus if it can handle more than 512KB of RAM why not spend a very few dollars and and give it a memory boost?
