Default Any info on Naples Fla

My Dad just invited my family to Naples for the week. Any fishing info would be appreciated. Can I plug off the beach? Are there party boats? I really cant afford a charter. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's the Gulf coast, you wade out 200 yards, fish bait and hope the bull sharks are not around...just sit on the beach and enjoy adult beverages.

Kevin:
Some of this may be applicable:

I was down in Marco and picked up some magazines. Let me see when I get home. Also, some FL fishing sites bookmarked on my home computer.

An interesting place looked to be Estero Bay- a bit north.

Heres how you catch fish in Florida

1) Shrimp
2) Small Hook
3) Light Weight (if any)
3) Any kind of structure

I did best around creek mouths, docks/piers/bridges. Anywhere there is grass would be worth a look. Heres a thought, look around for some kind of hot water runoff like a power plant. I fished the Anclote river early this year and did exceptionally well in the hot-water discharge from the power plant. I never saw anything like it, there were cast-netters using huge cast nets, 20+ feet w/ 2-3 inch mesh used for mullet, pulling in giant schools of ladyfish with 15-20 pound bull Redfish mixed in. The amount of fish there was incredible.

There is a fishing pier at 12th Street South
Use the above mentioned bait and tackle:
1) Shrimp
2) Small Hook
3) Light Weight (if any)

Stop in http://www.sunshineace.com/ for any bait and tackle. Yes they have a bait & tackle shop in a hardware store. Nice selection in there. They also have Fresh & Salwater Fishing licenses

make sure you visit the pier at night and watch the locals bring in 8' Nurse sharks at the end of the Pier

I lived in Naples years ago and its heaven! Snook blitzing off the end of the pier like bass blitz here! Hit the beach in the AM and plug. Live shrimp will always catch. Also bring some metal with you because the Spanish Mackerel love them!
