The Mets had the lead in every game that the Royals won.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
The Royals outscored their opponents 50+ to 11 after the 7th through the playoffs.
Their bullpen was the difference in shutting down and outlasting the opponents.
Yes, the Mets "should have" wonlast night... I think if Collins hadn't given in to the dark knight, but still errors also played a part,
in last night's game but also the series. Does anyone think all that highly, I mean overly so, of Murphy or Duda right now?
So bottom line was that KC was the better team, no doubt in my mind.

The only area the Mets had an advantage was in starting pitching (Royals outscored Mets 21-3 from the 6th inning on).
Defense was a huge advantage for the Royals, the Mets looked like Keystone Kops on several occasions, in fact the tone for that was set on the Game 1 first pitch to the Royals.
Familia blowing 3 saves was not much of his fault, last night he should have been brought in beginning of the 9th to do "his job" or Harvey should have been left in for the whole 9th inning.
Most likely the Royals win it at home if Mets win last night, would have loved to see a Game 6 to see which Cueto showed up.
The way Volquez pitched last night was overlooked, seemed announcers were too busy stroking Harvey.
I think bottom line was Royals looked like they were seasoned and they were having fun doing it.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Hope everyone enjoyed this pitching rotation as leading to the WS it was spectacular! These young arms are not quite ready for a full season maturity, besides the Wilpon's will be thinking in the future I have them cheep now & let them go when payday time comes .

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
I don't expect them to sign any free agents in the off season. They are setting up for future arbitration and redoing contracts. I haven't talked to a Mets fan yet who was upset by the Series. They had a fine season. Delivered as promised to contend for the playoffs. Defense was streaky all year. Maybe Flores goes to second for Murphy in the late innings for defense if they had Tejeda at short. They don't get by the Dodgers or Cubs without Murphy. They might not re sign him. They seem high on Herrera although I thought he didn't shine when given the chance.

Wilpon whatever....For the 2016 season, my oldest was just recruited to play on a 17/18u travel team...they put together a heck of a team...the same one Mike Trout played on when he was 17.

And you're right Bob, perfectly happy with the Mets season, I would have been happy if they played over 500

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Mets get Neil Walker from Bucs for Niese; a good move; Niese had no real role in the rotation, esp with Wheeler coming back, and Walker is a good steady big league infielder; I like the move

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
good move considering they could not sign Z & the injury to Flores a few days ago in winter ball , good for both clubs.
if your watching the MLB winter meeting in Tenn. the Gaylord Opryland is a great place to vacation

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
I don't know anything about the AL shortstop they just signed but it looks like they have a surplus of middle infielders at the moment.
