Default It's getting drummy

Well folks it's getting drummy on the Outer Banks. There are some nice drum being caught on Portsmouth Island and rumor of a few all the way up at Nags Head this week. The inshore boat captains are scoring around Hatteras and Ocracoke.

If you want to have some fun, spend some time with a good bunch of fishermen and maybe take home some $$$$$ you may wish to consider the NCBBA Red Drum Tourney. It takes place from Oct 22 to 25th and there is still room for more anglers. The entry fee is $ 100.00 unless you volunteer for a couple of judging shifts -- in which case the fee is waived.

We fish from midnight on Wednesday until 4:00 PM on Saturday and generally have a great time. The tourney takes place between ramps 23 and 38 and the beaches are open during the entire time.

I hope I have some reports for you shortly as it is my time of year --- the best OBX fishing time IMHO.

If you think the tourney would interest you go to the NCBBA website --- if nothing else you may find other interesting info on that site.

I hope you are all prepared to catch some nice fall striper --- hoping they show up down here this year!

Cheers,

Good luck Big. I'll be looking forward to your reports although I plan to be fishing Sandy Hook that week. I will be in Avon the week of Nov 15th staying across the road from Fran and Franks. Had a great time with the puppies last year and a few of our guys beached some bruisers at the point as well.

For most of us life has a way of getting in the way of living at times. Ya just have to hitch up the britches, move on, and do what's right. Hopefully you will get your chance at some point Rob.
