I'm thinking they increased my download speed because of the WiFi hot spot they enabled.

Cool Re: Comcast

Jess that has to be the hottest Comcast WiFi "Hotspot" in the world! ???

Shoot via a "wire" I can't even connect to the Comcast server in Plainfield and I'm closer than you. All I get is a Latency Test Error notice.

When I test the NYC or Red Bank servers I get my usual 23.5Mbps Download but I'm not complaining because I get my Comcast Internet service for free although the bastards charge me $9.95 a month for a Wireless Gateway which I do NOT have. I have a +5 year old modem they refuse to replace! Of course they tell me I can go buy my own modem and simply pay for a Comcast tech service call to set it up. XXXXXXX Crooks, it can be set up over the phone!

They are Pure Evil!

Below is from work on a business account.

Bob, those Comcast # were from the PC hardwired to the router/modem, not the WiFi.

Wireless doesn't go that fast yet from what I'm aware of.

Seems I don't now but I did a few years ago. At that time it was 300gb. At present enforcement of the 250GB data consumption threshold is currently suspended.

I hear it is running in other markets across the country, it's only a matter of time before it spreads like a virus.
Of course I'm sure there is a $ amount that will give the home user unlimited.

well they'll try something at some point, but the entire data strategy will evolve with the move to complete ip video, which is coming.

there are going to be a lot of shifts in offers and delivery over the next year or two, by necessity.

This is via Wifi, through a Linksys RE3000 range extender (from my back room):
