Tip of the hat goes to recent new threads introduced here: "not matching the hatch" and todays "winterizing" thread. Thread ideas are the life blood of our site. Never forget that a thread may get few posts, but it can have 100 viewers in less than a day. Happens all the time. And remember, buoys and curls, there is entertainment value in what you say. http://www.stripersurf.com/forums/at...1&d=1482266634

She wears that outfit only in early fall. I have been teaching her the ropes; just a kid.

If you think that pix is something, I just got a new calendar for Christmas that is pretty interesting ...... even for a guy who is 80.

We welcome any new threads, especially about fishing. I notice our visitations, aka hits, are right up there so a lot of people come here to check on what is going on but don't post. Its a lot easier for me if there is something for me to respond to. Admittedly, some threads I don't know what to say but I still need the chance. Shoot. Poppa used to say, "you can't hit something if your gun don't go off!"

We just had an attack from "JER114". I am aware that some of my views can be offensive enough to inspire disagreement. But if you find it compelling enough to attack me, make an argument. Don't resort to senseless insults that fail to carry any particular message. Jerry's reference to me being "old" and "bitter" does not follow in the discussion other than a pointless attack.

I'm surprised we don't get more of those guys. Oftentimes they have a different axe to grind. I often think I would like to put up a thread listing them and what they said but then I feel sorry for them.

Anybody remember "Jointed", the Cape guy who I never met who blamed me for everything wrong with the Cape? I was really waiting for another shot at him but the sonofabitch went and died on me.

I was on the road back then, back when I started. Books were being released, I was getting a lot of reviews. My seminar calendar was loaded. There was a slight hiccup in my bookings in 2001 because of the dog thing but I survived it inspite of efforts on the part of one publisher to ruin me. Thing is that when my career took a hit I was approaching retirement anyways. I still turn down requests every show season which flatters me. I did do seminars for 30 years and had a lot of guys who showed up regularly even for the ones they had seen. Even today I write 10 features per year when not fishing and hunting. This gig here at stripesurf.com is the easiest and most pleasurable.

Most memorable was having the release of The Trophy Striper timed with the big Long Island Fisherman show in Huntington. Later that night my wife and I counted out over $6,000 on the bed of our hotel room. The Long Island guys treated Joyce and I like royalty. They loved her.

We love Mohegan. We have been to a bunch and Mohegan is the best one for blackjack. We have a bunch of friends there as a result of our years of loyal attendance. The hotel is no dump, let me tell ya.
