Hmm... well it seems to me like the regulars aren't out there fishing enough. If they were, they would have all sorts of questions like why is my pink knockajima only working on the top of the incoming high drop?

Also sometimes I feel like the current group of regulars has been around so long that we've been over everything already. We need a new group of anglers to come in and start asking questions, I guess.

Yes, those are all worthy explanations why we have gotten so quiet. We might be entering a new point in our interaction where we have to deal with new issues, ones for which we have no experience. No question but that we sure have covered every aspect of the striper surf. Jon rightfully says he is getting entertainment reading old threads and posts.

When things are slow I am usually in the "archives" as well, past threads are very good reading, there is a lot to find in there...

I wonder if some of our members know how to navigate the archives. For instance, on the upper right corner of the page is a small box called "search this forum". Suppose you wanted to know more about live eels: in the search box keyboard "live eels" and everything ever said on live eels would come up for reading. After reading it you could go to the toilet or post, "just read this and found it helpful". something like that .....

Lots of times a thread slips off the page and I don't know where to find it so I just do a search. One time we had a new guy who came here to promote his self-published book and I had a couple of PMs warning me that he was a pbrick. I let him go and, sure enough, once he got word of his book in the site, he hammered me. I never bothered to have him banned (other site guys do that) because he never came back but I enjoyed re-reading all his posts to watch his plan unfold. It was pretty clear once I searched his name, read all the posts by him, and saw how directed and well planned his attack was.

I just deleted a couple of posts on the thread for putting up pictures. Reason for this is that it evoked offensive response. The fault is mine for putting up an offensive topless woman with a gun. It taught me a lesson. Sorry.

I will say, the picture was very, uh, " arresting " LOL

But definitely best left for PMs and not posted in public, IMO

It was an attractive topless woman pointing a gun at the viewer. We have had worse put up here and I even got the pix here years ago. I took it down because of one member response who referenced my wife and daughters to the photo. I was offended by that response. As I said, it taught me a lesson; not because of the picture but that we are never really safe. I guess it is necessary to get a kick in the nuts once in a while as a reminder.

I think the person responsible for the poke regarding the photo posts the most hilarious and entertaining reads in this forum (we all can use a smile and a laugh every day).
But sometimes he makes Frank his stooge. And it bothers him.

You have to have the wrong person, Frank, because this guy does not post anything hilarious or even vaguely entertaining. I did him a favor by taking it down.

Be careful when posting about digressions that lead readers away from the subject under treatment. I like to post on each active thread and if I have to follow something that is too out in left field, I don't know what to say. As you all know I am very smart but keep it easy for me.

Hats off to John P for starting so many cogent threads. His ideas have brought a lot of spark to the site thru ideas that generate informative and entertaining issues. I try but I can't do it alone and his efforts have made my job easier.

Your welcome. Always lots of questions, and figured I would tryto ask one-a-day, sort of like counting down the 12 days of Christmas. My intention is not to crowd anyone out.
