Mets started out 2 - 3 then reeled off 11 wins. Just like '86.

well for the first time in a while DeGrom didn't have it and you can't miss badly to lefties in the Stadium. And Pineda looked good and, in truth, it was one of the biggest strike zones I ever saw, but he was on. The pitch to Campbell that got Niese thrown out was so high and inside it was silly bad but again Pineda threw well. Hope Harvey gets the same strike zone tomorrow

Baseball in a nut shell. You're going to win 60 games. You're going to lose 60 games. It's what you do with the other games that make your season.

Yanks had respect for DeGrom so they went after the 1st pitch on almost every @ bat . 9 LH batters only Arod was on the right side which he missed taking one to center A few mistakes by the young arm which was costly. The Mets can't hit nasty pitches by Pineda & alot of players in MLB can't either . If Harvey thinks he can blow the heat past the Bombers in this cold weather today he will be greeted by the 161 st crowd He has mix it up & keep it low . The whole thing is fun...better than the Mayors Trophy game for sure.

You can't complain about the strike zone unless they changed umpires for each team.

If the zone was wide and high, DeGrom should have taken advantage of it, no? That's what every pitcher has done since the game was invented, if the ump gives you 3" outside you try 4".

we'll see what Harvey does, Hook's right.. he can't just think the heat will get him by, he has to learn to pitch.

Rob you are right. My point was that Pineda took advantage of thr strike zone with his slider and DeGrom wasn't in control
enough to do so. It's why it's a great game. Only game where the defense starts play

OK Hello Yankees...meet Mr Harvey. Total opposite from Friday. CC did not have it and was hit hard all game. If not for 4-5 really top defensive plays the Mets score 11. And a nice win. And boy was it nice to see A-Rod be WAY behind the fastball...way

# 33 made his 1st Bronx start w/ gem of a game . Keeping almost all their bats quiet & alot of bats were behind ..way behind Harvey called a great game w/ all the head shakes on the mound to get the win. tied @ 1-1 That's why they call it a series

And... it happened.

The Yanks are experienced lightning in a bottle, and I still have no
faith that they will hit 90 games.

Nevertheless, it's nice that they are starting out strong as it gives
more juice to the season, and the way their staff is setup it looks
like they have a foundation to build upon once they unload the older
players who, no doubt, will break down before the all star break.

Beltran might get his act together yet, even though right now he looks 100% shot.
He tends to go on a streak, so perhaps.

CC? he will be a 50-50 pitcher

Arod, who knows? He's about at the right level at .233 with some power. Expected him to be at best a .250/20hr/70rbi type player, looks like he is on track.
