What a run and the most surprising to me is the dominant pitching by the yanks!

well Yanks reached their limit; Astros stepped up big and proved to be the better team; the Mets did the right thing and hired manager with strong pitching focus; as we all know it;s the Mets pitching staff that holds the future...plus an ijury free year for the Team

Astros pitching in the last 2 games was top notch. At least it went to distance.

Another year watching the WS from a far . Who wins ? Won’t be doing the dance if joy . It was a great run from the Bombers a pleasant surprise which kept us tuned in . No complaints till next year . That’s baseball . New Mets mgr. better keep Spanish speaking translators close a breast to better understand, teach , communate, his players . It’s what needs to be done to get it done . Pitching coaches who become manager usually don’t do well . I’ll visit City Field again next year , it’s a really nice park to see a game .

I don't think the Mets could have a worse year, injury wise, unless the entire team got hit by a bus, making them the "non-dodgers". Bad joke, ya know "Dodgers" aka "trolly dodgers" ? yeah, they're in there

Does this season change anyone's mind about "Joey" (Hook, ya listenin' ? ) ?

I doubt it, but he didn't do bad. Yes, there was that one game he really royally screwed up, and who knows... they might've been in the WS IF... but it's a big IF.

Great season overall, since it was out of nowhere.

And unless things change, I really am not sure they can make the same run next year... just because so many things lined up this year that it's hard to predict year over year.

What is guaranteed is that they have the nucleus of a team that will provide some exciting baseball going into the late season, regardless of whether they can hang in there and make the playoffs. Then IF they can add some pieces this might be the makings of a playoff team for many years to come.

Maybe.

I hear you !!!

Joey Joes F Up was not really his fault totally. His bench coach 100% of the time is the 1st to actually set the phone call up . THEN Joe makes the decision to review . Robbie did not go to do this Joe jumped on the gernade. Sanchez did question & was ignored. The season was not lost on this one play . There were so many others that were at fault .

3b coach should be fired , DH was not used for two series. 3b position produced nothing for a producing position . Batting stragaty as a team was terrible. They Didveverything to make Sanchez hit which weakened the lineup . Pitching was very good kept the team in the game , every game

To win a ring is the only thing a Yankees fans expects. Nothing less

I agree about the batting strategy and they have to decide what to do with Sanchez. He either has to step up his defense or he'll move to being a DH (which I doubt anyone wants).

The entire DH/3B thing this year was a mess, I don't think Frazier gave them anymore than Headley in either D or especially O, in spite of a few good at bats.
I saw him boot a couple of balls that Headley never would have missed, so in spite of the few extra HRs he gave, I didn't get the move at all. And I'm no Headley fan.

Gardner is a battler. We are still stung by that stupid Ellsbury contract. CC needs to be resigned for 1 year.

They still need one good bat, somewhere, DH/OF/3B... I think Bird will be OK.
They still need one good pitcher.

Winning a ring is what most Yankee fans expect. Me? I'm just looking for contention and interesting baseball late season so I can continue to ignore football as long as possible

Spend the $$ on Manny Machado for 3b to plug the hole .
I’m no batting instructor but been around them enough that Sanchez BEST 2 at bats durning the playoff HR and 2b , no stride swing on both and his power is incredible same goes for Judge no need to lift the front foot to load . You don’t need to hit 475’ in every ML ball park just about 350 ‘ to left field . Most of there opposite field HR are just meeting the ball

thought you'd love to read THIS (albeit unlikely.... still LOL)

"Whoever is next for the Yankees already has the most important ingredient: a really talented, young roster.
The possibilities? Rob Thomson, the team?s bench coach, is well-respected inside and outside the organization. He would be the most likely internal candidate, though third-base coach Joe Espada has been impressive as well."

like that the Mets went for a manager with strong experience with pitching; we all know that pitching is the key to the Team and maybe he helps get Harvey and Matz back

I watch the MLB channel & Yes Network not much radio ( only on long fishing outings ) since retired . Yes as I have heard Rob Thomson & Tony Pena. Maybe Joe E can be done for the Cheep $$ anything is possible . But like Joey G took the Championship team fromJoe Torre who took a Championship team from Buck Showalter . So this team now is a contender ( provide healthy players ) I think the Big Boss can mgr. this team . As she is very up on what the Yankees do & capabilities . She watches a lot of games , maybe missed a dozen or so games a year . FYI she texted me Joey G was gone today .
