The stripes are still avoiding me, picked up two blues and a vampire fluke on a blurple sharplet.

NoMoco 3-6PM yesterday. Hit most of the incoming until sundown. Landed one hungry sundial and a handful of shad in the last hour of light. Also whiffed on an Albie hit. The water is starting to cool off.

Out again last night in MoCo. One shad. They seem to be in thick lately. Surprised there hasn't been anything under them.

I know that they post some overly optimistic stuff sometimes, but take a look at Betty and Nick's morning video for today, 10/18. It just set my heart racing!

Had some good albie fishing on Saturday (did I ever mention that I dislikeXalbies?)...we each landed a couple fish before switching over to bass/blues.

We had great action on big bluefishXandX10-15# bass on eels until we ran out of eels (45 minutes).X Switched over to using EliasV shads on the sameX3-way rig and were catching just as good until the tide slowed down.

Saturday's damage, $183 in gas, $20 in eels, and a coupleXdozen EliasV shads!X

Sunday the fishing sucked.X Hard South wind vs tide...we had no drift in the spot that has been holding fish.X Only a couple bluefish and aXbass to show for our efforts.X Hit up a few spots on the way back to the marina but wereXonly able to pull a 19" fluke (released).

So I've had some big fish come unbuttoned right in front of me but that was nothing compared to my feeling tonight. Sure material things are replaceable but I had my next 4 days lined up for fishing every morning and evening with a brand new rod for me that's huge especially before day light savings time because I typically work 7 days a week from sunup to sundown. Well on my second cast the rod breaks. A fresh 10ft penn batallion not overweighted in the least with a sudsrat Danny plug and a teaser. I know guys are throwing thousand dollar combos but I love penn and was so looking forward to enjoying this new rod paired up with a 5500 spinfisher at the time I was beside myself and got into my truck with my waders still on eels hanging from my belt and all. So that's my report for the day sorry for the rant Would have preferred a skunk. Don't think I've ever said that. Hoping this water cools down and so do I before I get on the phone with Penn

SH last night start of outgoing. Epic start. 1st 3 casts I had 2 keeps and 3 fish after my 5th cast. unfortunately it didn,t last all night. Ended up with 7 Bass with 2 keepers (still swimming) I should have left after my 10th cast LOL. Overall a great night with no other people around. Best of all most fish hit my custom Blurple swimmer (5) and 2 came on my hand tied blurple teaser.

ah that sucks Nature. I started my fall like that last year. Pulled back on a cast and boom rod explosion. Breaking in the new one tomorrow night, can't wait.

Nice catching bill, I got the skunk. You finally figured out the pattern, when I go west, you go east. Billy Black Cloud no more, now it's Jimmy The Jinx.
