Thanks Jim
Yep, I'm still around, didn't do too much summer time fishin'. Little sharking and I think I fished for fluke once or twice. Seems like every other day we had a house full of guests/family.

Don, besides heading south to visit squid, going up nawth to one of those ferryableonly islands is on my "retired" list to-do

Not sure if I'll ever try a wet suit though

Out Saturday looking for stripers & albies but was only able to find stripers & blues; water quality seemed really poor to me.

6 stripers for me and a couple for my buddy. I had mine on 4 & 6" swim shads...could have had more with smaller offerings/teasers.

A ton of small snappers (never seen this many around) chasing bait which would have made for some good fluking if the season was still open.

Small stripers stacked on an edge as if they were porgies...

Most of the blues were smaller but we did get two better ones, this one went 11#

Went out to my favorite fall rock piles sat night into Sunday morning all the Taylor blues you could want, saw small schools of bass cruising in tight to the rocks and either they didn't want what I was throwing or I couldn't get past the blues. Was hoping for an albie or two at sunrise but the wind really kicked things up. Saw one small school of mullet, so hopefully good things to come.

Did a quick check at the beach yesterday with my wife... relaxing now that the crowds are gone (and yes, I know there are no crowds at night, but.... )

So slow, even the oyster crackers were walking away empty

Out last weekend on a South Jersey Beach... Weather conditions were close to ideal (although my son & friends didn't like the cooler temps). Picked up a slew of cocktail blues on plugs and poppers (2 of our friends fished for fluke & caught over half dozen shorts). In five decades of fishing - I've never seen this many blue fish off of the beaches down south as I did this summer. It could make for some serious summer fun in 3-5 years if they choose to return!

Oh and if anyone can help me identify who makes this popper & where I can buy more - please let me know...

It's not an atom, or creek chub model (it has rattles, plastic eyes, and no skirt). It's been durable and casts like a dream.

It was a gift 5 years ago & most importantly - it catches fish!!!

it was a blue bonanza in So Jersey this spring and I have never seen this many snappers in years; been back to tog school since anything else you fish gets you snappers; two short trips today; total 10; bite was steady and all were 8-10 in but one who went 12; all in the rocks; if you fish the bridge the snappers are all over your bait;FALLLLLL
