Sandy Hood this morning. Horrible conditions. NNW 25 with gusts to 33 (breazy Point Bouy). Got sand blasted walking to the water. 4 dinks in the wash. Stopped at fishermans beach on the way back just to scope out conditions. 3 Ranger cars hanging out. Nobody fishing. Talked to a guy sitting in his car and he told me some very bad news. A fellow surf fisherman got pulled in and drowned this morning. He said he witnessed the attempted revival. I hope it was just BS but I don't think so. Very sad news. My prayers for him and his family.

was at North Beach with Bass today and ended with 8 shorts; all that stopped with the news of the drowning of one of us; terrible news and sympathies to his family; the important story for all of us that safety is always first; wader belt, check surf for a few minutes before you wade; care first for yourself and those you are with

I fished around Seaside yesterday afternoon until about dark. The west wind was just right for lofting those long casts over the breakers. As it turned out, it was rats in the wash, with nothing over 18", all on small Avas and only one on the blue teaser. A beautiful afternoon!

nice to catch, no matter the size! (unless you're boat fishing, then they better not be rats )

Glad it worked out for ya.
As Bill said, a mile out there are bigger fish and that's what keeps us coming back out.

We need to keep dumping sand on the beach until the shoreline is extended out

The worst moment of my early evening was when I was going to try a Magdarter and dropped it in the suds. I didn't realize that it was a sinking model. Damn.

Bass already pointed this out to me; he would respond but he's out on a boat today; I didn't want to go out but my friends made me go; life is tough

Thursday afternoon in the Park out front. One dink....Friday morning same place and 5 teeners, 3 on the Mag Darter and 2 on the teaser. No keepers for me, but had some fun. Left early this morning to beat the big snowstorm for my 160 mile trip home. Nothing on the bunker either day.

Don't ask me how I know , but still a lot of fish just off the beach- 40-50' of water (it's only a 500 yd cast). Bait= herring.
