Agreed...still cheaper and less bs than a boat...you can launch anywhere u have access throw on the truck and be on your way...ill have to get trip in with you in the spring bud

Out on Sunday, couple keeper bass around 30-32" nothing to write home about after the action we had the prior trip..didn't grab any pics.

Did a little clamming for a homemade seafood paella and some stuffed clams on the half shell.

My son and I got to IBSP for a couple hours this morning to throw bucktails in the bay. The beach was sand blasting, but the bay was sweet enough with the wind at our backs. Not many fish, but the lad caught his first striper and I landed 2, 20" and 24". The wind then swung to a more NNWerly angle and blew us out of the water and home. I've had worse days!

If by fishing you mean sipping a coffee in the truck watching others cast lures waiting to see if they catch anything before putting on your waders then YES...many people have been fishing

JJ....hit Sea Bright for afternoon outgoing; got two shorts in the wash on a metal; saw a total of 7 caught; all shorts in the wash;metals or bucktails; some active birds; not diving but circling and swooping; no fish driving bait up but birds saw something

Fished a few beaches at sandy hook before and after sunset. Nice night...no action for me or anyone else I ran into. The cold spell coming should push the huge mass of bass currently in the bay south...hopefully they stay tight to the beaches!

Here is another of my bi-weekly installment of kayak fishing in western LI Sound...4 kayaks, Thursday, 6.30am...nice and brisk morning...first we went to chase some blitzes in the bay ...got several shorts and nice fat 27" bass which came as a double with 20"...thought it was a keeper for sure...and then we all scattered around to go to our tog fishing spots...the forecast for yesterday had shown 5mph wind with gusting to 8 whereas we encountered at least 10-15mph from north-east in the morning which caused large swells...you had to work hard to keep in position...with the wind and temps in mid 40F it was kind of chilly at times...wind slowed down in the afternoon and at the end we caught over 10 keepers among 4 of use with numerous shorts...good day on the water...we shall see what happens after this big freeze today and tomorrow
