Yes, Joe, it is a Massachusetts thing do to the infestation of liberals. They just started uncovering thousands of hours of phony shifts for which they paid over $200,000 to state troopers. They can smoke dope on Sundays in Mass but you can't go hunting.

Two state chemists are doing time for giving false reports on drug analysis then "disposing", meaning selling the drugs for profit, or personal use. The next batch of convictions is about to be released back out because of fraudulent convictions -- 11,000 bad guys. Massachusetts -- the Samalyland of North America.

Sounds a lot like business as usual in Trenton and Albany.
Here's a rip off from Nassau County Long Island.
While Christmas shopping in Nassau Co. I made one of those right on red turns which are legal but failed to come to a complete, 100%, dead in the road stop. The camera got me. Fine $50, Driver Responsibility Fee ? $45, Public Safety Fee ? WTFook ? $55 and to top it off I have a Convenience Fee to pay it online $6. Something stinks.

Everything changes when citizens feel they are being cheated. When they believe they have been cheated, they are not comfortable supporting the good guys. I was a career teacher who told children the police were the good guys. Stopped for 40 mph in a 30, it cost me $900, counting the MV insurance sir charge. They eventually did away with that surcharge because people were running from the police and getting killed in the high speed chases.

It's almost like we wouldn't care as much if they just charged us one (ridiculously high) fee. When they break it down like that it just sounds stupid. On a similar...well, sort of...note...
We were recently on vacation in Charleston S.C. I knew at they end of our trip they would charge us a "resort fee" ($18/day for stuff like beach chairs that are already out there)...they're all doing it...even in Lake Placid. But there was also a $2/day "destination fee" mandated by S.C.! I said to the guy behind the counter, " I know this probably isn't your fault but what the heck IS that?". Basically, all out-of-staters get charged...for going on vacation. Like one of my coworkers says, "The inmates have taken over the asylum..."

That is the kind of stuff that causes people to stay home. Maine has all kind of weird crap intended for out-of-staters, aka "Folks from away". You won't believe the many times we thought about a trip to Maine and decided against it. People just want a level playing field. When they don't get it, they don't come back. Only Maine has two Opening Days to deer season: one for them and a later one for non-residents. Now, when you go to court in Maine, you wonder how much equal protection is there for we non-residents.
