Good luck, have fun and be safe.

Moco Outfront 4pm to sunset. South wind on a dropping tide with strong south to north current and a waist high swell with cloudy water. Many terns were diving and picking small swim bait behind the swell. Caught 5 short flat ones and a large skate, while using the hammered spoon and a pink and white unweighted clouser as a teaser. All fish hit the teaser, except the skate, which was foul hooked in the tail. Flat ones where just shy of 18 inches and are still swimming.

Getting the NJ porgy season started right. We kept roughly 100 of the biggest ones to split between four of us...letting the smaller ones live to fight another day. Only had a handful that would have been short with most easily being over 10".

The fluking in Raritan Bay remains a struggle not that we have been giving it much effort.

Moco. Dawn patrol. High tide ESE light wind choppy knee high swell and white caps at the outer bars with semi clear warm water. Fished through the slack, with the high low rig and casting gear. Switched out many swirly tail grubs in different colors with no success until the tide began to drop, then the white swirly tail on the high began to score. Caught approximately 20 shorts and two keeps at 22" and one just shy of 19" The keeps were darker in color then the shorts which were between 12 and 16"s. I was joined by a good buck tailer who nailed many more shorts before the bite shut down. Here is Hoping that the few days absence of the south wind, brought some warm water and some new flat ones to the beach. Back at it soon.

Nice going yard, went out for dawn water still felt pretty cold for this time of the year but perfect wind and water clarity. Could only find 9 fluke, nothing going over 16". Saw a guy pull in a decent 30" bass on a swimmer and split when the crowds showed up around 9:30.

Back out for the evening shift. 5P -830P Top of the tide dropping with the sunset. The wind shifted to the south as it usually doesUsing the hammered spoon I caught two shorts. Switched to the Hi- low rig and caught two more short flat ones, before hooking another flat one in the trough that took off like a freight train. I thought I had the mother of all flat ones , instead caught this double. Both safely released.

My fluke season so far has been dismal, I am glad the "young guns" have been picking up the slack.
