that's really a shame... we have had similar debacles down here, but this sounds like it could be a semi-permanent blockade for years to come for Sandy Hook, since the coasts have gone viral with beach replenishment, the longshore currents are really clogging up the channels with sand.

Really, I would think environmentalists would wake up to the long term impact on the ecosystems, and could be an ally in trying to turn the tide of beach "replenishment", which is the biggest political boondoggle I've seen in my lifetime.

Rob you are so right. All fisherman should be leery of those walking the boardwalks giving big smiles and big handshakes. They used Sandy money to create longer beaches than before the storm and created this mess.
