Out today for my last fluke trip, only one short. The south wind made the water dirty stained, muddy, youhoo. The fluke didn't like it, But, the weakies didn't mind. I had 8 with a few doubles, gulp and teaser with one going 18". Seen a few others caught, and I missed a few with the 6/0 hook big waves and current cranking. I only had one of my 200 teasers that I made. Next time.

I'm going to IBSP/Seaside area next week; reports are bigger blues and small bass; plus I want to get in the surf and it's dead down my way

Moco Outfront. Dawn patrol. On the fly. North wind with some chop and waist high swell with a shore break, on an incoming tide. Fly gear was not the best choice as a there were some uncle alberts moving in close enough for the alibi chasers with spinning gear.
I saw two caught as they were moving south along the beach. My longest cast didn't connect with an alibi, but a short fluke instead!

Took the trek north looking for something that would actually pull drag. Was not disappointed.

DonLBI, Was that farther north in NJ or into another state?

I don't think one can go much more north than the hook, and nobody's rushing there lately, I think.

Nice fish!

Nice fish!
Much further north, one of those islands that you need to take a ferry/water taxi to get there
Based on the numbers up there I'm anticipating a pretty good fall
