Cool Re: 2019 Tropical Storm Thread

current plots for TS Dorian and the northern disturbance pretty much staying on track.

no good ideas or guidance on where Dorian will go

Think the latest models has FL in the "cone of uncertainty". Sounds like a good title for my life story. Lol

yeah, it's seems landfall in FL is pretty certain.

Looks like landfall at the space coast, more or less.

Yep. Even best case scenario it's still going to muck up Labor Day weekend for most of FL

eek Re: 2019 Tropical Storm Thread

well, this has been trending stronger, bad news for central/north FL coast!

My neighbor has her cousin from Cape Canaveral visiting, she brought her important papers etc with her on the drive up "just in case" of a Hurricane (not sure how vulnerable her home is). Well, that turned out to be good foresight on her part!

Rob, what do you think for the Tampa/St. Pete area? Definitely not out of the woods by the looks of that map.

It's going across the state in roughly that trajectory, so yes, T/St. Pete will get hit, but of course without the surge and at a lower sustained wind velocity.

I was suspicious of the early "only a TS" predictions hitting FL, because of the time of year and that super warm water and sure enough, this is likely a cat 3 near cat 4 at the time of landfall.

As Hurricane Dorian threatens the Space Coast, NASA works to secure its launch pads

Rob, still think it's too early to tell. This thing is moving slower than molasses going uphill in the wintertime.

You're going to be impacted, but how much is the question. Space coast is still the bullseye for the worst of it. Slow movement is allowing the northern high to steer Dorian W instead of NW
