Hard water fishing in Lehigh County, PA yesterday. It snowed all day and the drive home, about 50 miles, was more interesting than usual, and I saw several people having a very bad evening with their cars.
I caught one nice fish, a Muskie of about 30" and jigged up a pretty constant pick of panfish. It was a fine day by my way of reckoning.
It looks like some mild weather coming next week after this hard freeze. Maybe I'll be able to find a boat going out for tog from Brielle or Belmar?

Congrats! Never did the ice fishing thing.

If there's life on the wrecks, there will surely be some boat heading out. I'd call in advance to be sure.

I spoke to someone at the Mimi's office who reported that they've pulled the boat out of the water for the season, but that the BarbGail is still looking for opportunities to sail. I left a message for their Capt. Chris to let me know if they have any shots coming up with next week's milder weather.

Bill, I hate you, seriously.

(JK... sort of )

Interested about the kayak store as well.

Don't know them but have seen there is a shop in Cape May County:

Unless you are looking for a specific brand, or even if you are, looks like they're connected with some very experienced kayak-fishing anglers.

The Saltwater Fishing Expo is March 15 -17 in Edison NJ. There should be lots to see & deals to be had. The NJ Boat Sale & Expo is February 14 - 17 in Edison NJ, but I'm not sure if they have a lot of kayak stuff.

Just a suggestion...

For whatever reason kayak shops in NJ died out. We had he original KFS - kayak fishing store up north and Jersey Paddler in Brick.... both gone.

The kayak fishing store had 2 locations, now just the one in Cape May. The owner John Shien passed away a year or two ago so who know what shape that shop is in now.

Unfortunately there are less and less hands on places to shop. Ramsey Outdoors carries kayak stuff but limited amount, they do sell Hobie. LL Bean Paramus store has some stuff but minimal.

Last year my buddie bought a kayak in Delaware just over the NJ border. It was a small shop bit it was packed with a lot of yaks and gear, sale tax free as well.

Unfortunately Amazon is the way to go now days.

Were you jigging when you caught the Muskie?

can't be this year, unfortunately, but I have 481 days, 15 hours and 45 minutes until my *target* retirement day.

Not that anyone is counting.

Bill, Fishermen's Supply in Point is a Hobie dealer and has a pretty good supply of extras.
