Anybody know a honeyhole I should check out if it's not iced over?

no ice, but if you get a chance stop in at One Stop Bait and Tackle and they will tell you anything that's going on.

most action (in fact only action I've heard of) is up one of the rivers either by bank or boat.

Eric, You haven't missed much, here's a quick update: Robs getting a job with NOAA, Rui's looking for cheap labor, Bay has a fly problem (seek help Jim) Blaze has 2 kids now (he's done LOL). Bill Wruble is still catching non-striped bass in Fla. Bengardner is still cruising Rt. 35 establishments and I'm a year older but no wiser, and winter is not giving up. Hope to see you soon

out today for largemouth; got a couple on a small swimming plug and then BAM; big whack with drag running; working on what I'm thinking is an 8lb plus bass and turns out to be a big channel cat;

Nice! Pond across the street has some big cats that have broken me off a few times.

I'd take it no matter the species, at this point

It's a bit early for back there, mid-April is the usual.

BUT, can't hurt to try if you have time, and are right there.

40'+ right behind there and throwing a worm you never know

South West Florida, freshwater report......
Not a bad day, well over a dozen large mouth bass landed,many more that popped off, a small peacock bass and a huge Midas cichlid.

All caught on ONE lure, a gill reaper lure called a slim line.

Steady pick of large mouth the past two days, nothing huge. Landed 2 talapia today in the mix, something different.
Still hunting for peacocks with not much luck
