out early today; bite has started at first light, not dark all week; a little wind with a light mist falling and white water...aka beautiful;ended with 3 and bite stopped abruptly about 6:30; 2 on blue/black swimmer and one on Kastmaster; out again early tomorrow unless the real rain starts by then

FWIW, I made a run to IBSP to try the bay side yesterday PM. No joy for me or any of my several comrades. Conditions looked ideal, just no fish. I'm sure that I'd have done much better had I waited for the evening's high tide. I did pick up a couple dozen nice sized clams, so it maybe wasn't an actual skunk...

Fished on Thursday from kayak...6am to 2pm...epic day...10 keepers and 5 shorts...all keepers were 31" and larger with 36" being the largest...my buddy kayaker had 20 keepers with many doubles...all fish caught on trolling xrap and mojos in 9-15 ft of water...this will probably be the best day of the season and the season has just started

Moco Outfront: Start of the incoming tide with an east wind and waist high swell with rolling clean whitewater. I was on the fly, but had no luck today. Still great to get out.

Bill,
I just did a tour of the Raritan Bay beaches. There is an army of bait dunkers at just about every spot. The most Ive seen this year, and no one catching.....yet

I was going to fly fish, but I would have needed really sharp elbows to squeeze my way into a spot!

Bill, I deeply love fishing for them behind IBSP. They showed last year, but at a fraction of the numbers of the year previous when they hammered on plugs for me both front and back.
Coming or not, I only hope.
