Joseph....if subletey was the goal, I guess we missed it; subleety does take a clever twist in the words to make it work; but OK lets move on; back to fishing wherever you think they're biting

on another note, got the boat in the water with my brother in law with the intention fishing then bringing it the dock where we keep it. We found a place to tuck out of the 20-30mph winds for a few hrs yesterday.... managed one keeper flounder, 5 in the boat total, crabs had a feast on bait.... and then boats steering froze up... was an adventure getting back to the ramp to pull it out. Due to the wind we were fairly close to the ramp (in the same backwater stretch, about a mile) and using the wind and the engine was able to tack a path back.

I am not 100% sure, but, to the left of the fishermans trail heading out to the water and west is, I think, coast guard property and the restrictions can?t be inforced by the plover patrol. There are two nests right on the corner when you first walk down but I have never had a issue going left.

Moco Outfront 4P-to 8P Strong south wind clear water. Waist high swell. I was casting a hammered spoon with a gold teaser. Bay anchovies have arrived and were being chased from below. I caught six short thin fluke and a dozen sundials. All on the teaser. Caught a strange creature called a pufferfish too.

the regular blowfish? or one of the other odd catches like burrfish or smooth blowfish (which is really rare for nj)? any idea? usually where there is one there is more blowfish, and they had a big run down here earlier in the spring.

Rob,
Here it is. It was yellowish on the belly. I would have added the photo earlier but my android photo had to be resized.
You may be right about what it is since I haven't seen a blowfish since I was a lad!

Found a fish just like that washed up on the beach around 5:15 AM in MOCO. Hmmm.

Moco Outfront 5p-8p SW wind and waist high swell. I was on the fly. A thunder shower ran through and I caught several 20 inch striped ones, another striped burrfish 5 short fluke and one keeper at 20 inches. All caught on a home brew bay anchovy imitation. Lucky I had the rain jacket!

Bill, Thanks! The blues were present, one fellow had half a dozen to 8 lbs. He was new to the surf, so I set him up with some metal. One big blue he caught was spitting up chunks of fluke Rainfish/ bay anchovys were present along with several whale breaches. Great evening!
