Thumbs up I'm Alive and Home

I'm home, surgery went well, they released me earlier than I expected or even wanted to leave. My neck feels fine although the ride from Philly to Princeton was not too enjoyable. The bone graft from my hip feels like a gun shot wound and is the causing me more pain than I expected.

They gave me Percosit for the pain but it just gives me a headache and knocks me out. I did enjoy the morphine drip in the hospital, one little click on the button and I was flying.
I'm spending all my time just napping on a recliner. I'm not going to check on the web site again for a few days, its in good hands and NO WAY am I going to read my freakin email!

I'm wearing my new 'dress collar' in the picture. Jsut 8 weeks to go

Good luck with your recovery.

If the Percocet isn't working, talk to your doctor. For example, Percocet is mostly tylenol. They can prescribe pure opioids (less the tylenol) if needed. I had a relative that lived in pain for too long before she demanded stronger pain medecine. The doctor complied and the pain went away.

Welcome back and I am glad you are OK. BTW, what 50 says is true. I am allergic to percoset. Your doctors should be able to get you on something better. I am not a pill guy, but when I blew out my back the doctor gave me something and it was GREAT!

Shoot, after all you have been through, you deserve it.

Welcome back Bob! Glad things went smooth. I've had multiple knee surgeries as well as shoulder and ankle. Perocet is good for making you sleepy but valuim(sp) worked better for me for the pain. When I had my open knee surgery I was put on that instead cause percocet was doing nothing for the pain. I was actually walking around with no "pain" the next day cause it did such a good job.
