Default Barnstable Hbr. Blowout

With old New Hampshire friend Jim Timmins and his wife Maurine testing out their new camper trailer in Brewster; I thought I had the perfect place to take him fly fishing yesterday. Especially when I read the weather prediction for south wind around 5 MPH.

Launched at Blish Pt. with the wind piping up to around 30mph. Told Jim it would undoubtedly calm down as the morning wore on. Several hours later, after taking numerous dinks to a high of maybe 22"; we called it quits with the wind whumping out ot the South at at least 40mph and higher gusts. Great fly fishing weather !

Fortunately, I had steered Jim to Morris Island on Thursday to escape the NW wind and he did a number on schoolies with one 32" to top it off. Said he never moved more than 500 ft. from the refuge stairway.

The only highlite yesterday was having Jim and Maurine over for supper for grilled Chicken Marsala. Only the second time I tried the recipe but the marsala sauce was really good. Like BobG's Casino Sauce, you need some nice french bread to sop up the drippings!
