The reel is aluminum so its not that much weight that is shaved off. Mabey an oz or two at most and I think that being generous.
The bail arm removal I think saves more that the drilling but then again the bailess kit is heavier that the screws holding on the bail assembly.
But overall its a freaking cool reel that turns heads.

Rob, not sure about the weight. Next time I break it down I'll take the rotor over to PO.
Not up here my last two outings. Sept at the hook was thick with spearing and bunker.

I had lived at the shore for over 50 yrs. Fished both surf and boat. One pattern I have noted from my past logs is that when ever a series of storms like NJ has seen occurred and the beaches eroded like they have... the bass would go out to 50' of water offshore. Some times they would come back in but for the most part were content to stay out there feeding on all the goodies the storms dumped into the deep. Oh they came in along the beach if a large school of bait came through but for the most part the bulk of the fish remained outside. Also a word of caution... with real low tides allot of guys try to wade out to the outer bar. NOT GOOD. Those bars are often very soft and in many places like quicksand. It takes some time for the sandbars to harden up. Just an FYI

Fished from 5-8 this morning, the south skunk looks like the north skunk. Wind out of the n cranking at 18 making the water look like yoohoo. Later I will drown my sorrows at the cape may wine festival I'll try again tomorrow am

Northern OC in back with a buddy 6-9 today. He caught 6 small 10-12 in bass and list another 3 or four. I lost 3. All on small metall on the outgoing current. They were chasing spearing. Nothing on the bait rod we had which was the same result as two others fishing crabs and mullet.

Haven't posted in a while. I was riding the skunk train for weeks until this am. MoCo out front landed 2 fish with stripes, about 25-26". One hit a popper and the other on a Tsunami sandeel. Also missed about 3 more. Back at it in a bit
