From Sandy Hook west to the Raritan River, border on the North by Staten Island east to Manhattan. Raritan River, Arthur Kill, Hudson, Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers all empty into it. Eastern part referred to often as Sandy Hook Bay.

Oh Roger, just admit it. You're counting the days. Hehehe! I had a great year and my first striper was a keeper. It was a 12 pounder caught on March 22. (I had to look up the date but I remembered the weekend.) I remember fishing for about two weeks prior to that about 4 times using sandworms and blood worms without any luck. Then I insisted we switch to clam and bam! My friend was pissed and I rubbed it in too. He thought he was teaching me and I told him he could keep his worms and fancy shiney red hooks.

I know that at least 2 of the 5 original killer "B's" are hitting the sand and a few are braving the waves

very cool. it's so dead down here that I've moved to freshwater to "extend the season"... don't have enough free time to justify the ride nawth but good to know it's an option if I remember to throw a rod and plug bag in the car "just in case"
