Yes, I hear it on sound authority that there will be a slot limit. There goes the fifty-pounder count. It could also lead to another moratorium on all striper fishing like we had in the 1980s.

That vac-sealer is a great thing for fish and game. You can even freeze bluefish.

The 50 count has been taking a hit with facebook, catch and release, and smaller stock biomass.

Be interesting to see what happens going forward

The next thing after slot limits is a MORATORIUM where no striper fishing is allowed. That is what was done from 1985 to 1989. There was not all that much conformity. I found out after that anglers at Block Island kept right on striper fishing and selling them through shipments to Fulton St.

Depression? My wife and I have always disliked holidays. Such days make people crazy; crime goes up, DUIs tank; assaults, deaths, murders all increase. We are afraid to go out the door during holiday periods.

Today is Mister Smarty and wife, Joyce, 63rd anniversary. Our grandchildren are having babies.

The local Conservation Officer, i.e. Game Worden, calls us the "Old Couple". He gets a boot out of seeing us in the woods. He says we have to be some kind of state record. (And that was before I shot this fall's 10-pointer.) But not before Joyce shot her 21-pound turkey.

Remember that 50% of all marraiges fail. Something that I never expected is that my wife takes care of me way more than I would have ever thought. She sits in on all doctor appointments, answering questions that I can't answer or can't hear. Among old couples the women, who usually enjoy better health and longevity, commonly sit in as advocates for their husbands; Doctors are used to seeing that. She recites my prescribed meds, reorders them, administers blood pressure results and reports on my overall condition. I hold the lantern while she chops the wood.

Of course way back I worked two jobs to pay for her education and, when younger, it was I who took up the slack in our every day lives. Rolls have been traded with the passing of those years. Again, geriatric specialists are used to seeing these things in couples lucky enough to stay together and live that long. We were just kids when we met.

Ditto, though we trail you by about 15 years, we both sit in on each other's appointments, to be sure we don't miss anything.

I never take for granted being married to my best friend.

I think relationships evolve. It may start out as some sort of physical infatuation but over the years it changes to a combination of things. You share in successes and failures --around half more failure than success which is why there are so many failed relationships. I can think of no other thing we do that is more risky than marriage. Would you dare cross the street if promised that you would make it only half the time?

Survival advice: stay married and don't borrow any money. To keep your money, eat at home.

Wish that I could but I don't have a phone that does that. I used to put up pictures here with my computer but I forgot how to do that. Sorry. Maybe one of our members can help us both.

Every time I try to put up s picture it is too large requiring that it be reduced but I forgot how to do that.

Basically the same as from the computer:

1. Click "Go Advanced" (only if you don't see the following button, #2 below, below the text box that I am typing in, for example)
2. Click on "Manage Attachments"
3. Click on "Browse" in the popup box (might show up as a new tab on your phone's browser).
4. Navigate on your phone to the photo, select and click open
5. click "upload"
6. close the tab/window

post your text and reply.

I do that, Rob, but the picture is usually too large and has to be sized down. That is where I stall because I don't know how to make the pix smaller. Seems I remember something about "stretch/skew"; that is the part that I forgot.
