Default Chipped Rod Tip Guide

Noticed that my line was all chewed up, so I checked the guides on the 10 ft tica spinning rod. I found the rod tip guide had a huge chip in it. So I need to replace that guide. Any guidance on how to replace a rod tip guide (and which guide I should use to replace it with)?

not sure if its over wound with thread but, if not, just heat it and it should slip off, most builders use tiptop glue which releases with heat. If its covered with thread that has to be carefully cut away first. Take the old top to a tackle store that sells rod building supplies, most do, match the blank tip size up, glue it back on. Use rod tip glue so you can heat and adjusted if needed. Its real easy.

Some of the B&T shops in this area will replace the tip while you wait for just a few $.

I recommend Jess' suggestion if you have not done it before. The heat you apply is minimal, just enough to loosen the glue used. Graphite will weaken with too much heat.
