I think most of the problem is that the Park people figure you are legal or the cops will ticket you and the cops figure you are legal because the Park people issued you a permit. I have never been asked by either if I have the required equipment or been checked except for one time when my sticker came off of my front bumper the day I bought it...word to the wise, they don't stick to powder coat

Your first permit?

Was that when you were with Henry Hudson on the HalfMoon?

Easy Gents, that's the late 1970's I was getting my permit down there frank when you were still fishing in your bathtub... No that's not nice to say. That just tells you you still have your youth.
Anyway Franklin, I have it this year again so, maybe I'll see you out there.

Hope to see you out there, let us know when you are headed down.

I probably caught more in my bathtub than you did on the beach.

Well already seeing pictures of the summer rush of buggies down at the park...I guess, in my opinion, as long as you actually purchased you permit for FISHING, relaxing in the summer, soaking some bait and picking up some sun, is a added benefit.

But damn, its a SportFISHING permit. Don't just buy it to sunbath and have the vehicle close to you.
Again I will say, the long line in front of me buying their permits this year were not even asked one question of how the permit would be used, heck, ask them what a surf rod is at least...

I can only imagine how many folks are "fishing" these hot and beautiful weekends. It must be bumper to bumper on the beach. Anyone have any photos?

I got the over the sand permit from '99 to '04. My truck and required equipment were checked every single time I reapplied. Have only been down there a handful of times since. Fish up in R.I. now from May to Mid October. Only fish down here in late fall.

One year they refused to give me my permit cuz I didn't have the piece of wood to put under the jack, guy made me run to the hardware store and get wood before he would issue the permit. that was over 10 years ago.
