I did manage two short fluke and 6 robins, only seen two blues and a few other short fluke caught. Hard to believe my next trip out there will be for albies in September, maybe the dredge will chase the birds early.

beach at 5:30 this am; arrived as a guy landed about a 10lb blue on an SP; water was clean with nice waves; popper for 30min produced nothing; switched to Kastmaster and had 2 on first 3 casts; next 40 min had 7 with biggest about 6-7 lbs; was it the metal or did the bite just start; these are the philosophical truths we ponder...well some of us ponder...well I ponder; when you retire you have too much ponder time; was a good morning either way; really hope someone locates the lost dog

Either side is a long walk, that was the trail facing the Verrazano bridge and I am sure it is roped off on the ocean side. And no you can?t walk the shore line.

Finally found our first bluefish of the year yesterday. Between my neighbor & I we landed 5. All cookie cutter around 5#s. Was fun while it lasted.

Wow, some real nice fish there John. Do you know if the big blues are here in the Raritan in numbers? I can't seem to find them & just not sure if I missed them or if I been pursuing them too early
