I met my daughter's class (6th grade) in the afternoon at IBSP and took an hour with

her plugging off the sods. She had a great time learning to cast my 10'6" salmon rod and I had 3 attacks with 1 landed- 37" chopper. Her eyes nearly bugged out of her head when the fish aimed to run between her legs.

Chunked last night from 6-12pm and ended up with 25 bass and probably 50 dogfish...three biggest were 38, 42 and 43# on a boga.

Nice night except for the idiot who kept trying to anchor on top of us. Why the f##k would anyone want to mug someone anchored on a random flat?

Almost felt like I was blackfishing...as if we were on this magical piece of bottom or something. Thank god this idiots anchor kept slipping and eventually he gave up. Literally tried to anchor on top of a fish we were fighting...

Bayakker, Yes, 10'6" salmon rod with 20# braid on the reel. It's a lot of fun and has plenty of backbone. I guess those salmon can get big and frisky, but I've never seen one outside a display case and sitting on a bed of ice. With the wind at my back I could throw a 1.5 oz plug a LOOONGG way.

I have a 10? salmon rod, two years ago I caught two albies and a Jack Cravelle at the hook, what a experience.

Most people would never see a Jack this far north, that was actually my second out there. The first was in 09, same scenario for both, a September hurricane moving up the coast weakening to a nor?easter up here, pulling tropical water on the way up with some tropical fish. Matter of fact, both fish were caught within about 400 yards of each other .

Don...all of you will appreciate the thrill of hooking up a nice fish in the near dark when you cant see what you have until it's splashing in the wash; always really exciting

Cool, bunka, what are you catching them on. I am turning to the dark side and am going to try Saltwater fly fishing, made a bunch of albie teasers waiting for the fall
