Casting lures and snagging a gull is a talent

I've only done it while doing "bait and wait" ... let us know how bad the symptoms get

Really things are late this year, as far as I can tell... but this week should get it going.

I've only snagged 3 in my entire career of fishing all over the place yesterday eating the rain fish on the beach and it wasn't even on the cast it was as I was reeling it in they would fly into the line lol.

Moco Outfront 2P to 6P Top of the tide and on the fly. NW wind that was strong but tapered off to a moderate breeze. Knee high swell with very clear water and good current. I had my best day with the fly rod, fishing in the trough. 14 Fluke, two pushing 25 inches, four short striped ones and a nice 18ish inch weakfish! When I hooked the "bluefish" I was amazed that the 20 lb tippet didn't get cut off. It wasn't till it self released in the wash that I realized it was a weakfish!
Alibies and small bonita were being caught just north of me, but it was a S!@# show that I stayed away from!!!

All still swimming and caught on a yellow and white clouser. Great day for the fly rod out front!

I stayed away from the circus, and caught 4 fluke on the red/white magdarter. I hope those albies disappear before the bass show, I don?t need people casting over my head. Then again, 40 cars in the daylight, 2 in the dark

The casting conditions were perfect. I spent too much time admiring some of my long casts, when all along the fish were right in the trough!

I just clicked on the Monmouth Beach cam, an empty beach with an all-out Blitz about 30 yards out.
this is why it stinks living an hour plus from the beach

IBSP from 0930 til 1100 out back, 4 short striped ones on bucktail - none on the teaser. On the way home I stepped out front and threw the same bucktail , but put a GULP on the teaser and landed 6 fluke in 25 minutes. (I think they were fluke. Flat fish with teeth and up to 16")
One guy I spoke to caught 2 stripers of 25" and 26" on a popper. He was driving the beach.
This cooler air and NW wind is great!

moco albies running, saw 3 landed, none by me but still looking for my first. Love the boardwalk binocular crowd that wait then run down to beat the people actually fishing to get to the blow ups.
