Default It amazes me....

how so many in line today to purchase their IBSP sport fishing buggy permit, appear to have no interest in fishing. One lady in front of me did not even know how to describe it, she said " I want the pass that let's you drive on the sand". They don't even do spot checks for equipment anymore. Just hand them your money.
I still went ahead and bought mine, I figure nights and right time of year I won't run into the beach driving party'ers.
Super windy today.

My friend lost his house in seasode park to Sandy, bought a beach bug with camper kitchen and sleeper and now weekends oceanfront every weekend in the park. He fishes but not a die hard. Now he has the best ocean front $300 buys.
It fits his needs. To each there own.

When the Park Police do there roadside inspections checking your equipment is when they get to empty your pocket even more.
It's all about the money Joe.

Understood but, regulations say, not to each his own, it's a sport fishing permit. I have had my permit down there for 40yrs and truly believe that if fishing stinks, relax on the beach. That's great. Do not take my space on the beach if you really just don't plan on fishing but just spend the he weekend sunbathing on the beach. Just my opinion, a rant and what the regs say when you hand over you cash.

Now that's what I believe, and hence, why they just don't care. I guess I don't really either.
Sorry I didn't touch base with you when down, wife came down with me and it was a quick weekend.

Saw a, hopefully, tongue-in-cheek post that the state is installing cameras at the air stations and ticketing those that do not coil up the hoses. Anything so the rangers don't have to actually get out of their office/vehicles.

Police coil up a hose hahaha, hell they can't even report potholes to the road department.
Besides what would a ticket be for not putting the hose back on the hook?

I got annoyed at that too Joe. I like fluking from the surf in the Summertime but I avoid IBSP a lot in the Summer. Most all of the passes sold are so people can have their own little spot on the beach to sun and play in the water. The rules are a joke now.

It would be nice if they actually only allowed fisherman access to the beach. The crap I've seen over the years, oy.

At Brigantine, the North End is now supposedly a fishing only permit now that the state took it over. We'll see how / if that is actually enforced. Of course, this ticks the locals off who only want to have a weekend beachfest.

You can't get a beach buggy pass in NY without producing your free salt water fishing registry card. I asked why NJ doesn't ask for it and the response I got was it is a federal program and the state won't interfere. I can off the top of my head point out 4 things wrong with that answer but bottom line is they don't want to bother.

Bob, when I got my permit last weekend there were 10-12 people in front of me. It still only took 10 mins. There's not even an application to fill out like there used to be. License and reg copied, give us you money and party on.
