Agree about the blues. Even on the best days it’s has not been blitz st all. I find the bite to be kind of tentative too. Not the savage typical blue bite with hooksburied in their mouth. Lots of hits and misses and hookups in edge of mouth etc. but still fun because it will be ending soon. But early fluke reports look really good

I haven't seen one all spring, boat or surf. Have yet to even lose a shad or hook to one

By this time in the year, my biceps are usually destroyed from fighting them. They aren't coming to Raritan Bay this spring (in any numbers), this is usually the week we see them move offshore to spawn and get invaded by the little guys which already happened.

Looks like the guys down south had more of them and the guys to the east (LI) had a decent run of them.

Moco Outfront 2P-5P Knee to waist high swell with white water. Bronze colored water with a half foot visibility. Slight east wind. Using casting gear I worked a three mile stretch of beach with a high low rig and then with a hammered spoon and teaser. No bait and no fish observed of the flat, striped or yellow eyed variety. Called it a day when the wind shifted and built up from the SE. With the low tide there was not much water and all the holes were sand filled. Long walk back to the ride........

Had 9 bass last night in the 20-40# range, biggest 48" but only 40# on the boga. All released

Had to leave just before it got good because of the radar! Damn T-storms!

I've been in NH for the last week and incommunicado. I don't know when I'll get to smell the salt again, but it's very good to read your posts. Thanks, all!

Gnats and eel grass on every cast- makes for very short sessions 😡

I did my normal thing in the Park this weekend. Nothing but skunk on Friday, but it sure was a beautiful day to sit and soak clams and bunker. Worm my arm out casting plugs for a while, but nobody home there. Saturday morning started out nicely with a 27 3/4" fish...a real beauty! I had a couple short hits right after that but that was it for the rest of the morning. This morning (Sunday) was crazy...hard showers in the drizzle and 30 MPH winds from the NNE...couldn't cast much further than the first wave but I picked up a teener on my second set of clams. Packed up and left about the time it stopped raining, but I'll be back soon

Not many flies, though.
