Something like this? They have some running a lot more expensive, too.

I have a hard time imagining buying something like this without having picked it up to give it a shake and feel it flex.

I am with Joe, I wouldn't buy another rod sight unseen because I usually end up being disappointed.

I fished with Pheonix rod years back on an inshore tuna pop/jig charter. I liked the rod but couldn't even tell you what model it was it's been so long.

thanks to both of you; I'm dealing with Tackle Direct since I also cannot buy a rod on-line without feeling it in my hands;

Are you looking for a travel rod to go back & forth with on a plane? If you are, i highly recommend the st croix tidemaster travel rod. I got it in 7'6", comes in a very nice travel case, protective yet low profile. Airlines never charged me extra for it & they didnt count it as a carry on or a personal bag/item either.

Moco Outfront in the late afternoon. WSW wind with the tide near the bottom of the drain. he swell was waist high with clear water and white foam. I caught 4 short flat ones on the hammered spoon and the white and pink clouser teaser with plastic dumbbell eyes. I saw many small striped ones in the trough and managed to catch one on the teaser. All like took the teaser too.

I saw the sun set over the bay at IBSP. East wind at about 5. No flies almost.
I saw some big swirls but nothing seemed to want anything I threw. It was a beautiful sunset, though.

... and I was able to fill my pockets up with clams. That's one of the advantages of wading barefoot. The disadvantages are the crabs and the occasional ray.

Speaking of rays, I have read several mentions of their presence in the surf, but couldn't have imagined how many and how big the damn things are. I got to the park about 5 pm and went swimming with my daughter and they were cruising in flights of 2 to 6. They were riding the waves for speed and charging into the wash.
Very impressive.

Went back to western Long Island Sound on kayak yesterday with two friends...7.30am - 5.30pm...gorgeous day...tried fluking and ended up with keeper around 19.5" and dozen and half shorts...sea robins were relentless with some of them exceeding 16"...even caught a 14" weakfish while fluking which was the first one for me this season...caught 3 porgies and kept one at 15.5"...the only bad thing was XBronx Expressway on the way home...terrible traffic

Hemi and I got in a late night kayak run a few nights ago. Managed a few small stripes but it was pretty tough with all the bait. Mostly peanuts with a few spearing thrown in. Bass were very actively feeding on the bait. Even tried live-lining a couple peanuts.
