Yes!
My first ever report of success with fluke! My buddy and I fished the bay at IBSP and hooked 25 or 30 fish and landed 12 or 15. Of course, my only keeper, 19", was the very first fish. I let it go thinking "of course, there'll be more."
We were throwing bucktails and I had on a teaser with Gulp 4".
Albies next!

Been awhile since I posted but..Got out of work early (new job much closer to my fishing spots)..So decided to hit the beach hard S wind was a pain but managed a few schoolies to 24in right in the wash...Fun 2 hrs..saw a bunch of small schools of mullet cruising the jetty pocket..

One short fluke for me, got my hopes up when I saw a 5 lber coming off the beach. Good luck to all who give it one last shot tomorrow. I have best man duties all week, nice to be a best man in your sons wedding. I?ll see you in October

Got my clams and went out this afternoon. First cast caught a monster bull nose...second cast went small with a snapper blue. Beautiful afternoon high tide though ;-)

The B's are gonna crash the cocktail hour LOL

Another good trip this am same spot fished 615 till 945..Good action thru sunrise landed 6 lil bass 20-24in all on the kettle creek paddle tail..then it slowed and I walked the beach for a bit was about to leave at 9..then a solid thump followed by some good wieght and non-bass head shakes...Landed a nice thick 21in fluke on the paddle..Nice way to close the fluke season!! Some nice fillets that will go well with some aliol and a cold 1 tonight!!

One of these days I need to just go out with the fly rod or the noodle rod and a casting egg.

The mullet i got paid off Friday morning at dawn with a nice fat 24 inch striped one to start the day out front. Too many sun worshipers on the beach later to go back, but Cape May county is the family vacation this week, so I will be back at it when the rain lets up today...I HOPE! Sorry, no pic...left my phone at home in PA.

Moco. Outfront. Yesterday afternoon. Last day targeting the flat ones. A North wind with a waist high swell, white suds, and clean water. Mysterious absence of bait and gamefish. Numerous Albie chasers standing by with arms folded waiting. The "Albies" popped up briefly several times. On the third time I saw them show themselves, a young teenager who was standing near me and fishing with his Mom, hooked into an "Albie" and landed a 6-8 pound Spanish Mackeral! Only fish I observed, but it was worth watching a surfcaster be born.
