The first day of fall brought rain and cooler temps this morning....and a skunk for me. No sun worshippers though. In fact, I practically had the whole beach to myself! ;-) Was just sitting here looking out at the low tide and thinking it would be a perfect time to go fluke fishing, but...I think I will just take a hot shower, make myself a gin and tonic and call it a day.

We have to just leave the spin gear at home 1 day and take all those flys and test them!! 1 day after the wedding

Be wary of what the blues would do to them.

The only perfect fly is the one that's never been used. My Mama taught me that, or something very similar.

Go for it, Bay! If I were in the right place at the right time, I' even offer to help test'm.

Did some fluking in LIS on Sunday...2 dozen shorts in 15-16 " range no keeper...sea robins were relentless as well as snappers which destroyed at least $20 worth of gulp by cutting the tails off.

Maybe a pork rind tail could be rigged in conjunction with a tailless Gulp? It's the flutter combined with the yummy scent that gets them to strike, I'd think.

interesting reports on blues and small bass in Seaside; again. just reports, but good if true; I'm getting out later in the week and wondering what's happening further north like Long Branch, Sea Bright , etc. Not looking for specific spots but wondering if it's better a little farther north.

Bill, I made a few hundred past two years, if the blues got them it would just give me an excuse to tie more. I?ll throw them my first generation, if anyone finds a funny looking lip ring in a blue it?s my teaser.

I park my truck in one spot, walk five miles and then have Bayyaker drive me back to my truck. Works well

How about this one Rob? You sharpies should all hope that I spot burn. That way I,ll draw all the trolls to fishless areas and you'll have all the good fishing areas to your self. LOL

Usually anywhere along the coast is good. Then when you snag on the bottom, just act like your fighting a fish, rod way high, walking back from the water, then reeling down toward the water edge: repeat a few times.

You'll have a flock of guys running, when they get there, just snap the snag off and then walk away smiling.
