I think some people aren't going to be happy no matter what they do with striped bass anywhere. We have a commercial fishery for striped bass here in MA and what a mess it is. Striped bass is an open access permit and each year more and more permits get issued. When we had 1/2 the quota the season would go twice as long as it does now. For the last few years over 1/2 the quota (1.2 million#) is being sold as 1 or 2 fish per transaction, we cal;l it subsidized sport fishing! Striped bass the national monument of fishing! Sheesh!

The sad thing is we're the ones gettin blamed for this. When it really isn't the commercial sector.
