Bentrod, I am guessing since it was summer, it was a local fish and local fish are hook fish. Sound like a commercial for eggs!
As far as the R+R goes, next to trap fishing, R=R has the lowest bycatch mortality in the biz, so.....
I can understand your point of view though, the majority of people in Ma. with permits that use R+R are "weekend warriors" and really have messed things up for those of us trying to make a living. For the last few years, 1/2 our quota (striped bass) has been sold in 1-2 fish transactions, sheesh! I called it subsidized sport fishing!![img]images/icons/icon8.gif[/img]

does the gill-netters, trawlers, or any other gear type have a striped bass quota in MA. or is it 100% R=R.?????????
